1930s italian art deco magdadyne radio and cocktail cabinet
an unusual and highly decorative italian art deco cabinet dating from the 1930s, combining a vintage radio with a concealed cocktail cabinet.
crafted in richly figured wood veneer, the cabinet features dramatic symmetrical grain patterns across its double front doors, elegant metal handles, a distinctive ribbed lower panel and sculptural stepped feet. Its geometric silhouette and warm wood tones are characteristic of the sophisticated italian design of the period.
behind the doors, the interior reveals a mirrored drinks compartment originally intended for storing liquor bottles, transforming the piece into an ingenious combination of radio furniture and cocktail cabinet. The mirrored backdrop adds depth and reflects the warm tones of the veneer, while the original radio section retains its decorative speaker grille and control knobs.
the radio bears the magdadyne signature, alongside the markings “dinamico”, “tipo zas” and “res. Ecc. Ohm. 2000”.
a particularly distinctive collector’s piece, ideal for an art deco interior, vintage bar area or eclectic living space.
vintage condition with visible signs of age and use. Some wooden sections show scuffs, surface wear and minor cracks. The radio’s operational status has not been verified. this piece has an attribution mark,
