The field is finished in a tight, even basket weave, edged with a fine braided border that traces the outline and adds a tailored, handcrafted detail. Near the top, a decorative oval medallion frames an open scrollwork of curled rattan rings and circles, with a delicate looped trim that circles the opening like lace. Rows of small, repeating loops across the upper panel echo this scalloped motif and give the surface a rhythmic, textural flourish. Below the main panel, an open rail with evenly spaced rectangular voids leads to wrapped rattan legs and small curved brackets at each corner, giving the lower frame a light, airy base. The cane is bound with neat, tight wrapping at the joints, and the warm honey finish shows soft tonal variation from amber to pale straw. A small maker’s plate is visible along the lower rail.
