Boats like this were originally used as scale models for ornamental ponds and for recreation. Regattas were often held in public ponds and fountains for hobbyists to race their model ships, just as their full-size counterparts would compete on the seas. Today, these pond yachts are valued for their beauty and attention to detail. This boat’s hull is painted green and white, and its surface has become nicely patinated with time. Supported by the mast are four sails made from an interesting light green fabric, which adds a unique flare to this item. This pond yacht would make a perfect display piece in a range of spaces and decorating styles. Gently cleaned and ready for use in your interiors. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
