The curving, bowl-like frame and the plump tufted cushion make it a perfect reading chair. Bamboo and rattan furniture enjoyed a revival in the 1960s, when its natural textures and sculptural shapes suited the relaxed, informal taste of the day. Its surface carries the gentle marks of age, never overworked or artificially distressed. Placed in a living room, library or bedroom, it offers comfort with real presence and sits happily alongside both antique and modern pieces. See less
