A superb, matched set of six mid-19th-century Pennsylvania paint-decorated "fancy" plank seat side chairs, originating from the Adams/York County region. Retaining their exceptional, untouched original painted surface, each chair features a rich faux-mahogany flame-grained ground highlighted by vibrant hand-painted cabbage roses, scrolling floral motifs, and delicate gold-leaf pinstriping along the aprons, splats, and ring-turned legs.
Boasting a classic balloon-back silhouette and contoured plank seats, this complete set offers rare architectural presence and historical integrity.
