The piece is fitted with three large drawers, each framed by carved rope-twist moldings and retaining decorative metal handles and escutcheons. The curved front gives the commode an elegant profile, while the sides and corners are embellished with elaborate scrolling and foliate carvings.
A particularly decorative carved apron runs along the lower edge, complemented by four shaped cabriole-style legs with carved details. The substantial top follows the gently curved silhouette of the case and is finished with a carved border.
The warm tone and patina of the wood highlight the depth of the carving and give the piece a strong, sophisticated presence.
