The beautifully figured mahogany top incorporates two drop leaves, allowing the surface to be extended when required while retaining compact proportions when closed. The table is raised upon an elegant turned and reeded central pedestal terminating in four reeded sabre legs fitted with original brass cup castors, creating the balanced and refined silhouette associated with Regency furniture. A single frieze drawer retains its original brass knobs and working lock, providing useful storage while maintaining the restrained symmetry of the design. The mahogany displays a particularly attractive warm colour and established patina, highlighting the natural figuring of the timber and the quality of the construction. A versatile period table suitable for use as a Pembroke table, sofa table, occasional table or centre table within both traditional and contemporary interiors. Presented in good antique condition, with minor age-related wear, light surface marks and an established patina consistent with historic use. Structurally sound and ready for use.
