A jaunty pair of fine quality andirons, with an interesting version of the typical spurred legs resting on ball feet. These incorporate tautly turned elements above the ball feet in the manner of the brass “Beehive” candlesticks that were made contemporaneously. Late 19th century. Provenance: private collection at Ayrshire Farm, Upperville, VA. Very good antique condition, nicely polished, these are also lacquered so they will not need further polishing.
