Likely dating to the late 19th or very early 20th century, the chair combines traditional Victorian form with Renaissance Revival-inspired carved details. The beautifully shaped arms sweep outward into rolled hand rests, while the carved crest and fine decorative linework surrounding the upholstered back give the chair an especially elegant architectural presence.

The generously padded seat is upholstered in golden mustard velvet with coordinating decorative trim. Small antique wood-wheel casters remain fitted to the feet.

A wonderful statement chair for a library, desk, study, sunroom, bedroom, dressing room, sitting area, boutique interior, photography studio, or layered traditional/eclectic home.

Condition
Good antique condition with age-appropriate wear.

The wood frame shows scattered surface scratches, rubbing, finish wear and small marks consistent with age and use. The velvet remains very attractive overall but shows areas of wear, discoloration and several small spots/stains, including marks on the seat. Casters show oxidation and age-related wear.
