The porcelain itself is white on back with the front center gold medallion against a slightly warmer white, as seen in the side by side photos. Pickard historically imported European porcelain blanks for decoration in its Chicago studio, before opening its own porcelain production facility in Illinois in 1937. Each plate measures about 11” round and is marked on the bottom, “Bohemia — Made in Czechoslovakia” and “Pickard — Decorated in U.S.A.” This set of 8 in such wonderful condition is a rare find. Perfect for holiday or formal entertaining. See less

A little of the gold has worn away on the center rings, a few very light scratches on a few, and one has a stain which is not too noticeable (pictured) It almost looks like the glaze was applied heavier in that spot. Remember each one was hand decorated, not made by machine. Zoom into individual photos for closer look. less
