A striking, one-of-a-kind studio craft masterpiece hand-turned in 1991 by the late, acclaimed Michigan artisan Jerry McKay (1938–2017).
Sculpted from a rare Box Elder Burl, this bowl features a dramatic, turbulent grain and rich amber tones. McKay masterfully preserved the rugged, "live edge" bark rim and natural inclusions, creating a fluid, sculptural silhouette that shifts beautifully from every angle.
Hand-signed and dated by the artist on the underside with registry number 91-198, marking it as an authentic, early-90s vintage studio piece.
An exceptional textural focal point perfect for Organic Modern, Japandi, Wabi-Sabi, or contemporary rustic spaces. Ideal as a dining centerpiece, console accent, or standalone mantle sculpture.
Excellent vintage condition. The natural voids, fissures, and uneven contours are intentional, native characteristics of the raw burl.
