A mid-19th-century French Provincial oak writing table in the Louis Philippe style, sourced in Provence, France. The table has been structurally revised, cleaned, and polished with wax, preserving its naturally aged patina and the character of the original wood. The rectangular tabletop is constructed from three wide oak planks, displaying pronounced grain patterns, natural knots, and a rich, warm brown patina developed over generations of use. The surface retains historic markings and subtle irregularities, contributing to its distinctive character. The table stands on four elegantly turned legs with rounded collars, elongated cylindrical sections, and tapered feet. Traditional pegged joinery is visible along the apron and leg blocks, reflecting its provincial craftsmanship. A single drawer is incorporated into the front apron, fitted with a brass cup pull that complements the simplicity of the design. With its generous proportions and understated character, the table is equally suited for use as a writing desk, kitchen table, or intimate dining table.
