This striking vintage censer (incense burner) is a beautiful example of traditional cloisonné enamel craftsmanship. The vessel features a deep, vibrant cobalt blue enamel ground, intricately decorated with a continuous pattern of scrolling lotus vines and multi-colored flowers in shades of red, yellow, green, and white, all outlined with fine gilt wire.
The censer is framed by a wide, polished bronze rim and a matching bronze band around the upper shoulder, which is deeply cast with intricate, archaistic scrolling motifs centered on a stylized "Shou" (longevity) character. It is flanked by two prominent, dark bronze handles cast in the form of fierce beast or lion heads, each with a curled trunk or tongue extending downward.
The interior is finished in a smooth, dark bronze tone. The base bears an engraved, circular seal mark featuring a geometric border and four stylized characters. This substantial and ornate piece is perfect for use as an incense burner, a decorative catch-all, or as a striking accent in a curated display.
