At the center, the traditional Blue Willow narrative scene unfolds in fine detail: a pagoda nestled among willow trees, a zigzag bridge with figures crossing, a small boat on the water, and two birds in flight above, all classic elements of this storied decorative motif. The scene is bordered by a dense, finely patterned cross-hatch band that transitions into a geometric key-fret and floral medallion border running the full perimeter of the oval platter, framing the central landscape with visual structure and depth. The transferware printing technique gives the design crisp, consistent linework throughout, a hallmark of quality period ceramic production. The glossy glaze enhances the clarity of the blue pattern against the white ground, and the platter’s generous oval proportions provide a substantial, functional presence suited to serving as well as display.

Use this platter to serve a holiday roast, display fruit, or hang as decorative wall art showcasing the classic Blue Willow pattern. Its traditional motif suits Traditional, Cottage, Farmhouse, Chinoiserie-inspired, and Eclectic interiors. The platter measures 14.5 in / 368 mm wide, 11.5 in / 292 mm deep, and 1.25 in / 32 mm high. Hand wash with mild soap and a soft sponge; avoid the dishwasher and abrasive scrubbers to protect the glaze and pattern. The platter is in very good vintage condition, with the original glaze retaining a vibrant blue pattern, minor surface scratches and slight wear consistent with age, and no visible chips, cracks, or repairs.
