Sweeping scrolled crest rails and shaped open arms rest on carved acanthus and volute supports finished in gold. The front and rear carvings appear to be made by hand. The outside backs are a real standout: a carved X-motif panel with gold accents and scroll corners, set against a blue-green diamond fabric that contrasts with the golden scrolling vine upholstery on the front.
