A unique McIntosh mantel clock, made during the 1980s, characterized by the combination of a minimalist dial, polychrome hands, and an original tubular base with a strong sculptural presence.
The circular dial is finished in black and features perforated hour markers that reinforce the graphic clarity of the design. The hands stand out against it in red, yellow, green, and white, creating an attractive chromatic contrast highly representative of the postmodern aesthetic of the 1980s.
The most distinctive element of the piece is its black lacquered metal base, formed by a continuous tube arranged in a wide helical structure. This spiral transforms an everyday functional object into a small sculpture, giving it a dynamic and unconventional visual presence.
