The … Read more Small table clock in gilt brass richly decorated with openwork scrollwork, acanthus leaves, flowers, and masks in multicolored enamel. The main faces of the base are ornamented with two enamel plates that represent mythological scenes. The side panels feature sculpted characters set in niches that are topped with fantastic compositions inspired by grotesques. The circular clock face marks the hours in roman numerals and is encircled with an enamel plate embellished with cupids on clouds. The clockwork has been cleaned, serviced, and is in working condition, vienna, mid-19th century, circa 1850. Dimensions: l 3 in, w 1.8 in, h 6.5 in. Dimensions: l 7.5 cm, w 4.5 cm, h 16.5 cm.
