This exquisite pair of figures depicts cranes standing atop mythical turtle-dragon bases (Xuanwu), traditional symbols of longevity. Each crane is gracefully modeled with a long, slender neck and legs, its body richly decorated with cloisonné enamel featuring vibrant feather-like scales in red, blue, and green. The trailing tail feathers are adorned with intricate peacock-eye patterns in purple and green. The heads and necks are detailed with black and white enamel, finished with gilded beaks and crests. The figures stand on bases shaped as dragon-turtles, decorated with hexagonal shell patterns and colorful floral scrollwork on a yellow ground. The set is a striking example of traditional decorative art, combining sculptural gilt bronze elements with fine enamel work.
