Antique Victorian Tunbridge Ware Inlaid Boxes, Circa Mid 19th - Early 20th Century. Produced in England, the earliest forms of Tunbridge Ware date back to the 1680s. Constructed from a mix of multicolor exotic woods, the surfaces of these forms incorporate detailed micro mosaics.
The top surface of the octagon box displays a radial kaleidoscope-like micro mosaic motif in all-natural tones. Birdseye maple sides incorporate a band of dollar sign-like symbols coupled with thin stripes. The lid is hinged, the interior is unlined.
Condition: Great antique condition commensurate with age and use. Surface finish variation present. The lid has a slight warp, only visible from the sides showing gaps when closed as detailed in images. Three small losses to interior wood liner (does not affect the function of stability).
