An original vintage junghans ato-mat wall clock, manufactured in germany in the 1970s.
the clock features a distinctive cream-colored, square ceramic case, a round dial with a chrome ring, and elegant gold-plated hands. The dial bears the markings “junghans ato-mat” and “lic. Ato germany.”
the clock is in working order and is currently equipped with a junghans w738 quartz movement “made in germany,” powered by a single aa battery. The w738 movement is a later model used by junghans; therefore, it should be noted that the current movement may be a later replacement or an upgrade of the original movement.
a label from the german watchmaking workshop l. Weimann, idar-oberstein, has also been preserved on the back, which is an interesting collector’s detail.
the clock fits perfectly into the mid-century modern, space age, and german vintage design styles. It looks great in both modern and classic interiors.
