Great craftsmanship provincial style circa 1790-1820. Made of burled walnut, when closed it is a writing desk rich in wood. When opened it reveals a fitted interior of a ladies vanity, with three doors in the center, flanked by nine compartments (6 on left + 3 on right). Pair of center draws open in opposite direction, top turns into a mirror, while the bottom displays a sewing table pillow. In the large compartment below the vanity mirror are two pairs of drawers (4 total). Purchased in New York City for 30+ years ago for $2800. Table is in very good condition considering age, showing light age / use wear, well taken care of - please see photos. Size is great for any room at 25" wide, 17" deep front to back and 30.25" tall to top display surface, while the knee clearance is 24" in height. Beautiful and rare piece of furniture, would work great in vintage shabby chic or mid-century modern setting! See less
