This striking pair of gilt cloisonne enamel Qilin figures brings a bold, majestic presence to any interior. Qilin are mythical hooved creatures from traditional folklore, revered as symbols of protection, prosperity, and good fortune. Each figure is finely crafted with intricate wirework separating enamel cells on a turquoise ground, featuring scrolling floral and foliate motifs in shades of red, orange, green, and white. The creatures feature elaborate, dark bronze dragon-like heads with flowing manes, expressive faces with open mouths, and gilt flame-like tails and hooves. One figure rests its paw upon a brocade ball, while the other rests its paw upon a raised emblem. This pair makes a distinguished addition to a collection of cloisonne or Asian decorative arts.
