This striking pair of vintage Shoushan stone figures depicts Pi Xiu, mythical creatures from traditional folklore believed to attract wealth and ward off evil. Each beast is finely carved in a seated, upright posture with detailed curly manes, bulging eyes, and open mouths revealing their teeth. They feature decorative collars with a coin medallion bearing the character "財" (Wealth), and one holds a small object in its claws. The stone exhibits a rich, warm amber-yellow tone with natural russet and brown variations, characteristic of aged Shoushan stone, and is finished with a glossy polish. This pair is a distinguished example of traditional stone carving and makes an impressive addition to any collection or desk display.
