It is a 1907 Art Nouveau botanical design chromolithograph. It came from an unbound portfolio of motifs for rugs, lacework, and fabrics. This chromolithograph is a beautifully decorative image of “stylized flowers" (lily-like). Iti s done in a soft muted color palatte of shades of gray, silver, blue, and white, and it showcases wonderful highlights of metalic gold throughout the floral blossoms. Metallic inks were used in France during the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. Metallic inks are quite rare and lend a wonderful sense of beauty and interest to the chromolithograph. The gold shimers in light! The Art Nouveau floral motifs have delicate detailing. Zoom in to see the layering of intricate work. These images are now extremely RARE to find, especially in mint condition. This image is in excellent antique condition with no indication of age...no foxing, no discolorations, no tears. 9 x 14 inches in size. It's in horizontal format. Comes matted in a neutral tone 16 x 20 inch custom mat ready for a standard size frame. Makes for wonderful wall decor. Please see other Art Nouveau chromolithographs in our shop. See less
