A tall, straight-sided bowl turned from a single warm, reddish-brown wood, with a thick flared lip at the rim and a band of crisp incised rings circling the upper body. The lathe work is confident and unfussy. The rings catch the light and give the piece a sculptural, architectural quality, while the barrel-like profile keeps it grounded.
An Indian colonial-era grain or kitchen vessel, it carries the soft, even patina and gentle wear along the rim and base that come from decades of handling. At 9" in diameter and 11" tall, it works as a floor-standing vessel, a mantel or console centerpiece, or a quiet sculptural accent on a shelf. It is equally at home holding branches, dried stems, or nothing at all.
