A stunning and intricately crafted vintage mid-century Murano art glass vase, featuring classic Italian elegance and exceptional craftsmanship. Blown on the island of Murano, Italy, circa 1950s, this twin-handled vessel features alternating vertical bands of vibrant sky-blue ribbon canes alongside meticulous white latticino (zanfirico) filigree mesh.
The body features a classic bulbous melon shape that elegantly tapers up to a dramatic, ruffled optic-ribbed trumpet rim. Twin applied handles in clear glass flank the neck, showcasing delicate scrollwork.
Notably, this piece retains its original vintage gold foil import sticker from the A.A. Importing Co. of St. Louis, Missouri, a prominent mid-century wholesaler that brought fine European art glass to the American market. A beautiful, collector-grade piece of Venetian glass history in pristine condition.
I love the sky-blue color paired with the white latticino filigree mesh.
