This English-style wingback has a button-tufted back, generous wings, and rolled arms that end in carved, exposed-wood scrolls. Antique brass nailheads outline the frame, and the turned front legs rest on brass casters. The chair is upholstered in a woven floral tapestry in sage, olive, cream, and muted rose, with a down-blend seat cushion. The chair was built the old-fashioned way, with real 8-way hand tied springs providing support.
Lillian August is a Connecticut-based designer who built her name on relaxed, collected interiors that mix English and European influences. Her collection for Drexel Heritage was made in North Carolina, and each piece was hand-signed by the craftsmen at every stage of construction.
