Cloisonné is an ancient metalworking technique where wire filigree is soldered onto a metal base (typically brass or copper), filled in with colored enamel pastes, and fired in a kiln.
If you look closely at the jar, you can see the thin metal wire outlines defining the edges of the white plum blossoms, cloud borders, and geometric background patterns against the deep blue enamel fill.
