This is a circa 1940s French Art Deco molded glass bowl by Pierre d’Avesn. Crafted in substantial clear glass, the bowl features a dramatic starburst or petal-form rim with deeply molded vertical fluting that creates strong architectural reflections throughout the glass. The heavy construction and sculptural profile are characteristic of French Art Deco pressed and molded glass of the period.
Pierre d’Avesn designed this model during the 1930s, with examples documented as French production from the 1940s. A striking decorative bowl for a cocktail table, console or collection of French Art Deco glass, it also works beautifully as a small serving, candy or nut bowl. This is in very good condition with minimal wear. No watermark found.
