This impressive pair of gilt bronze guardian lions brings a commanding, regal presence to any interior. Each lion is finely cast in a seated, upright posture with a detailed curly mane, expressive face, and a decorative collar with tassels. One lion rests its paw upon an intricately pierced brocade ball, while the other playfully interacts with a small cub. They are elevated on rectangular bases decorated with raised relief carvings of dragons in motion. The undersides of the bases bear a circular seal mark containing the characters "大明宣德年製" (Made in the Great Ming Xuande Period). The bronze exhibits a thick, rich gilded surface with a warm patina, characteristic of fine metalwork.
