Sligh Furniture French Provincial / Louis XVI Revival writing desk, dating to approximately the 1960s–1970s. The desk features a sophisticated antiqued ivory-painted finish with subtle distressing throughout, lending the piece the appearance of a timeworn European original.
The rectangular top is fitted with a three-panel inset tooled leather writing surface, each panel framed by intricate decorative tooling and delicate linear borders. The leather is complemented by the desk's warm cream finish, creating a refined, traditional presentation.
The case is arranged with five drawers, including a central full-width writing drawer and paired banks of drawers on either side, all retaining their original antiqued bronze-tone bail hardware. Raised and molded drawer fronts add architectural definition, while the tapered square legs terminate in small shaped feet.
A particularly versatile example of Sligh's historically inspired furniture, combining French Neoclassical elegance, practical workspace functionality, and decorative period character.

The finish exhibits age-appropriate distressing, scattered small marks, surface spotting, minor abrasions, and areas of finish wear, particularly visible across the writing surface and perimeter of the top. The tooled leather panels show expected patina, light discoloration, and surface wear consistent with age and use, while the decorative tooling remains clearly visible. The case and drawer fronts retain their architectural detailing, with minor signs of age and use throughout. Hardware appears original and displays an attractive aged patina. The desk is structurally sound and presents well overall, with the wear contributing to its authentic vintage character rather than detracting substantially from its presentation. less
