This pair of vintage Brutalist side tables pairs clear glass tops with intricately worked gilt-metal bases, each supported on four slender, square legs. Beneath each glass surface, a sculptural network of ribboned, scrolling metal forms interlocks in abstract, curling patterns, loops, waves, and tendril-like flourishes that evoke wrought iron scrollwork reimagined through a Brutalist lens. The metal carries a rich, variegated gilt patina, warm gold tones catching the light across raised surfaces while deeper, darker bronze settles into the recessed curves, giving the bases genuine sculptural depth and textural interest. The square glass tops rest securely atop the metal framework, their clean, transparent surfaces offering an unobstructed view of the elaborate metalwork below, a striking contrast between the heavy, tactile base and the light, see-through top. Small clear plastic or rubber bumpers are visible at the glass-to-metal contact points, protecting both materials while maintaining the glass's floating, minimal presence. The overall design balances the raw, geometric abstraction of Brutalist metalwork with the refined transparency of glass, creating two tables with genuine artistic presence.
Use these tables as a pair of side tables flanking a sofa, or push them together as shown to form a larger coffee table surface. Their sculptural metalwork and glass tops suit Brutalist, Hollywood Regency, Mid-Century Modern, Eclectic, and Maximalist interiors. Each table measures 20 inches wide, 20 inches deep, and 16½ inches high. Dust the metal base regularly with a soft, dry brush to reach the detailed scrollwork, and clean the glass with a standard glass cleaner and soft cloth; avoid abrasive cleaners on the gilt metal finish to preserve the natural patina. The pair is in very good vintage condition, with an original metal base showing a rich patina consistent with age, glass tops that are intact with no visible chips or cracks, and minor surface wear on the metal consistent with careful use.
