The shaped warm-toned wood case features floral marquetry decoration and extensive cast metal mounts, including scrolling foliate ornament, figural and floral embellishments, decorative feet, and a classical figural finial. The circular dial is fitted with individual white enamel-style Roman numeral cartouches surrounding an elaborate cast center, with pendulum visible through the glazed lower opening. The coordinating pedestal features richly figured veneer, floral marquetry panel, gilt-metal borders, crest, corner mounts and decorative molding, creating a dramatic architectural presentation approximately six feet tall. European/French decorative style; maker and movement have not been verified.
