Centered prominently in the upper half is a stylized representation of an ancient Chinese ritual wine vessel, or Zun. Painted in a brilliant malachite green, it mimics the heavily oxidized patina of archaic Chinese Bronzes. The vessel features intricate relief carvings typical of the Shang and Zhou dynasties, including stylized monster masks (taotie) and geometric border bands.
The gold-leafed background is heavily layered with diverse styles of Chinese writing. It contrasts fluid, expressive cursive calligraphy (Caoshu) written in bold black ink with dense blocks of crisp, formal imperial court or philosophical texts printed in red and black ink.
Flanking the lower central calligraphy are two classical Chinese imperial dragons (long), detailed in dark linework over the gold background, symbolizing power, strength, and good fortune.
