An elegant matching pair of French Louis XV style writing tables, combining warm wood veneers, gold-tooled black leather tops, and elaborate gilt metal mounts.
Each shaped top features three inset leather panels framed by decorative gold tooling, a diagonally patterned veneer border, and a substantial gilt metal edge. Graceful cabriole legs carry sculptural female bust mounts, complemented by scrolling foliage, ornamental apron trim, and metal-mounted feet.
The flowing outlines and richly decorated surfaces give these desks a striking presence while preserving an airy silhouette. Each includes a central drawer; the photographs show a divided interior in one and an open interior in the other.
Beautiful as coordinated writing desks in a shared study, or as substantial console tables arranged beneath mirrors or artwork. Their matching proportions offer an especially effective foundation for a balanced interior.
Pair of French Style Writing or Console Tables, Sold as a pair
Each with gold tooled black leather tops, and gilt metal mounts, 301/2 x 551/2 x 291/2 ins.
