An elegant large silverplated picture frame featuring sweeping acanthus leaves, curling scrolls, and decorative oval reserves centered along the top and bottom. The raised ornament flows around softly rounded corners, creating a sculptural border with beautiful movement and a luminous silver finish.
Its generous proportions and richly detailed foliage evoke Rococo Revival and Victorian decorative silver, recalling the ornate frames of William Comyns and Gorham. Equally suited to French traditional and English country interiors, it complements the layered, collected decorating associated with Charlotte Moss and Bunny Williams.
Measuring 12" tall × 10" wide and accommodating a 9" × 11" image, this frame provides a striking setting for a family portrait, wedding photograph, botanical print, or small artwork. Display it as a focal point on a console, mantel, or dressing table, or combine it with smaller silver frames for a collected arrangement.
The reverse is finished in dark fabric with an easel support and hanging hardware, offering tabletop or wall display.
