The mantel clock is crowned by a graceful lyre-bearing maiden, signed H. Moreau, with its original titled plaque reading “MÉLODIE, Par Hip. Moreau.” The figure rises above a variegated marble element and an elaborate patinated spelter clock case decorated with foliate scrolls, floral swags and torch-form finials.

The porcelain enamel dial features delicate floral decoration, Arabic numerals and a gilt beaded bezel. The coordinating urns echo the clock with patinated figural and foliate decoration, scrolling handles and variegated marble socles, creating an unusually dramatic complete three-piece presentation.

Marks: Figure signed H. Moreau; titled plaque “MÉLODIE, Par Hip. Moreau.”
