Juist in!
A very rare and 40" wide, substantial and highly collectible Mid-Century Modernist centerpiece bowl designed and handcrafted by the renowned Mexican silversmith Emilia Castillo in Taxco, Mexico.
This striking elongated oval form is expertly crafted from solid hammered copper, intentionally exposing a warm, highly textured dimpled copper interior that beautifully captures the light.
Perched dramatically on each rim are two fully sculpted, stylized toucan figures featuring contrasting green-patinated bodies, polished brass-finished structural beaks, and iconic circular eye details.
The bowl rests on an integrated, ornate interlocking leaf-pattern pedestal base.
The underside of the vessel is fully stamped with the authentic studio hallmarks:
“Emilia Castillo / TO-85 / Mexico M.R. / Plateado / 1”, verifying its authorized production, origin from Taxco, and its heavy silver-plated craftsmanship over the base copper structure.
