An elegant silverplated picture frame by Godinger from its “Treasured Moments” collection, featuring an elaborate border of scrolling foliage, small flowers, and shell-inspired ornament.
The shaped silhouette has gently flared corners and a prominent crest centered above a smooth, shield-shaped cartouche. Bright silver highlights contrast with darker recesses, emphasizing the richly detailed relief. A narrow velvet surround adds depth around the photograph, while the reverse is finished in deep blue velvet with an attached easel for tabletop display.
Its ornamental design draws on Rococo and Victorian silver traditions, with an aesthetic affinity to the elaborate antique frames associated with English silversmiths such as William Comyns. It would complement French traditional interiors and the layered, collected decorating associated with Bunny Williams and Charlotte Moss. These are stylistic references; the frame is by Godinger.
A lovely choice for a family portrait or wedding photograph, displayed on a bedside table, desk, mantel, or alongside a collection of silver frames.
Accommodates a 5" × 7" photograph in portrait orientation. Retains its original Godinger display insert.
