Crafted from high-quality mahogany with a rich, warm finish, the chair features an impressive gothic arch pierced splat meticulously hand-carved with detailed acanthus leaves and delicate foliate scrolls along the serpentine crest rail. The tall, tapering back stiles lead down to a comfortable drop-in slip seat upholstered in a beautiful, hand-stitched needlepoint tapestry. This sage green textile depicts a whimsical Millefleurs woodland scene complete with stylized flowers, hunting hounds, leaping stags, and rabbits. Supported by an incredibly sturdy base, the chair is anchored by straight, square front legs and raked rear legs tied together with a robust H-stretcher frame. Combining historic architectural elements with exceptional artisan textile work, this sophisticated chair makes a phenomenal statement accent seat for a hallway, dining room, or vanity desk.
