This is a charming vintage pair of Chinese cloisonné enamel elephants, crafted from a copper body with intricate wire inlay and polychrome enamel decoration. Each elephant is depicted standing with its trunk raised in a symbolic gesture of good fortune and auspiciousness. The bodies are decorated with floral scroll motifs and gilt auspicious symbols on a turquoise ground, with gilt trunks, ears, and saddle blankets. The pieces are finished with gilt metal details and are a fine example of traditional Chinese cloisonné craftsmanship.
