Charming set of 5 vintage hand-painted ceramic bowls.
Our research suggests while they are possibly of Armenian origin, they are very Moroccan in their aesthetic with each featuring a lively combination of stylized florals, foliage, and geometric border motifs in blue, green, orange, yellow, and black.
The individually painted designs give the set an appealing artisanal character, while the coordinating palette creates a cohesive presentation. The rounded forms and boldly painted decoration bring a warm, collected look to a casual dining table, kitchen display, or open shelving. Signed en verso, as shown.
Dimensions: 4" dia. x 1.75"h.
Condition: Very good vintage condition, vibrant colors, no cracks, no crazing. A tiny (<1/16") glaze chip on rim of 1 bowl which would disappear if dabbed with a blue marker. A longer chip (skinny but 3/8" long) is on another rim but, truthfully, at purchase we didn't even see it as it was previously filled in with a black marker.
Free local pickup; otherwise shipped via economical ground delivery.
