Each turtle is individually modeled with raised shell, head and leg details, creating an organic sculptural design inspired by the tropical wildlife of Belize. The bowl is finished in a richly varied earthy glaze incorporating shades of tan, ochre, brown and charcoal with subtle blue-gray accents.

The rustic surface, dimensional decoration and natural variations in the glaze give the piece the individual character associated with handmade studio pottery.

The underside is hand-inscribed “Hand Made in Belize” and dated 2007, along with a stylized artist's signature or pottery mark. The individual artist has not been positively identified.

Measures approximately 9" diameter x 2" tall.

Condition: Displays beautifully with a visible hairline crack, as shown in the photographs. Handmade variations in form, surface, glaze and decoration are inherent to the piece and contribute to its individual character. Please review all photographs carefully, particularly the close-up of the hairline, as they form an important part of the condition and description.
