Several dimensional hand-modeled shrimp or prawns are incorporated around the bowl, complemented by an incised shrimp design within the interior. The sculptural decoration gives the piece considerable texture and dimension.

The pottery is finished in an organic mottled glaze with earthy tan, ochre and brown tones accented by charcoal and blue-gray areas. Variations in color, texture and form are characteristic of individually handmade studio pottery.

The underside is hand-inscribed “Hand Made in Belize” and dated 2007, along with a stylized artist's signature or pottery mark. The individual artist has not been positively identified.

Measures approximately 9" diameter x 2" tall.

A distinctive piece of Belizean art pottery and an especially appealing decorative accent for coastal, tropical, Caribbean or nautical interiors. Also a great piece for collectors of shrimp, prawn and marine-life décor.
