This unusual sculptural bowl features hand-modeled frog and iguana/lizard figures positioned around the rim and incorporated into the design.

The pottery has a wonderfully organic appearance with a mottled, variegated glaze in earthy shades of tan, ochre, brown, charcoal and blue-gray. The raised sculptural animals, irregular textures and variations in the glaze emphasize the handcrafted nature of the piece.

The underside is hand-inscribed “Hand Made in Belize” and dated 2007, along with a stylized artist's signature or pottery mark. The individual artist has not been positively identified.

Measures approximately 9" diameter x 2" tall.

A striking piece of Belizean studio pottery that works beautifully as decorative art and would be especially appealing to collectors of frogs, reptiles, tropical décor, Central American art and handmade ceramics.

Handmade variations in form, surface, glaze and decoration are inherent to the piece and contribute to its individual character. Slight damage to Iguana back-please review all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition and description.
