A dramatic vintage wall mirror featuring an elegant frameless silhouette accented with elaborate gilt Rococo-style floral and foliate mounts. The large rectangular mirror has gracefully bowed, scalloped edges, while dimensional gold-tone ornamentation decorates the corners and centers of the upper and lower edges.
The asymmetrical scrolling foliage, flowers, and shell-like flourishes give the piece the exuberant character associated with French Rococo and Hollywood Regency interiors, while the frameless construction keeps the overall appearance surprisingly light and sophisticated.
At an impressive 72 inches tall, this is a true statement-scale mirror. It would be striking hung vertically as a full-length dressing mirror or horizontally over a console, sideboard, fireplace mantel, or large bathroom vanity. The combination of expansive mirror glass and sculptural gilded decoration makes it particularly well suited to traditional, Parisian, Hollywood Regency, Italianate, and collected eclectic interiors.
A wonderful decorative piece with considerably more personality than a conventional framed mirror.
