The dial reads Gent of Leicester rather than Gents of Leicester, a naming variation also found on other clocks from the same maker, not a different company or anything to worry about.

This clock started with a real job, not as a decorative object. It was originally a slave clock, wired into a central master clock elsewhere in the building that sent out a regular electrical pulse to advance the hands by a fixed step each time. Gents of Leicester, founded in 1872 by John Thomas Gent, built much of the technology behind that system. This example has been finished in a clean, matte satin black, a versatile look that lets the silver dial and the clock's honest industrial shape do the talking.

The clock measures 24.5 cm in diameter and 6.5 cm in depth.
