French pendulum clock with a Canton famille rose porcelain case, decorated with court scenes alternating with floral and bird motifs, presumably produced in Canton in the second half of the 19th century. In keeping with French practice in the late 19th century, the porcelain is embellished with a French eight-day movement, with an anchor escapement and a bell strike at half past the hour. The case consists of the vase, a cap with a winged finial, and a wooden base in typical Oriental style.
Dimensions: 50 cm overall height x 20 cm diameter.
The case is in good condition, with minor signs of wear consistent with age; there is only one restoration on the lid, near the finial. The clock will be supplied serviced and in working order.
