The central scene is framed by deep blue geometric borders, while additional hand-painted decoration continues around all four exterior sides.

The porcelain has a wonderfully aged appearance, with a soft, warm-toned ground rather than a bright white background. There is no maker’s mark on the underside. The form may originally have been the base of a covered serving dish, although no lid is present.

Condition:
Very good antique condition with no chips or cracks. There is overall crazing with some minor age-related staining. The surface also shows pitting and small bits of clay or kiln debris beneath the glaze, consistent with imperfections occurring during manufacture. These characteristics add to the wonderfully timeworn appearance of the piece.
