The … Read more A sculptural late-20th-century Rococo Revival pedestal table with an intricately cast iron base and a 36-inch round clear-glass top.

The highly decorative base is composed of four symmetrical supports embellished with acanthus leaves, open C-scrolls and curled volutes. Four gracefully splayed legs terminate in rolled feet, giving the table an especially elegant silhouette. Its distressed white and gray painted finish highlights the relief decoration and lends the piece the atmosphere of an aged European garden furnishing.

Two cylindrical fittings within the pedestal indicate that the base may originally have been designed to accommodate a patio umbrella. The present solid glass top has no center opening and may be a later replacement. The table is presently intended for use as a pedestal, garden-room, conservatory or occasional table.

Excellent vintage structural condition with an intentionally timeworn painted surface, scattered paint loss and oxidation within the central fittings. The richly patinated finish has been retained.
